"A River Too Deep" is a story that I believe will stick with most readers long after the last page is read and the book is closed! I really believe that if you take the time to read "A River Too Deep" you will not be sorry! I recommend this book to all lovers of Christian Fiction as well as Historical Fiction genres as well as stories that involved Indians. Īlcy learns that sometimes God uses loss and change to give us the best he has for us.Īlcy helps the Indians learn God's ways and helps them learn about His book! It is also Christian fiction, with lots of Biblical references without it being preachy ( which is a great way to read a fiction). The story is told with lots of details that makes this a very interesting historical fiction novel. But is that want she really wants? The story is told from Alcy point of view. She kept longing for a certain gentleman to come and take her back to her own world and away from the Indians. The main character is Alcy who is rescued and taken to his hunting grounds by a Indian. The story was very easy to read and understand and true to life. I was kept reading from the first page till the last.

For while I knew that the characters would be waiting patiently for me when I opened it again, my mind simply did not want to return to the year 2008 or the work that awaited me at my desk. As my hour came to a close, I dreaded the closing of the book. Reading this book reminded me of why it is I love to read, and why reading on your lunch hour is not the smartest thing, at least for me. But it is also the beginning of so much more.
And when one horrible event occurs and she is convinced it could become no worse, her circumstance change so drastically, she is sure it is the end for her. Alcy Callen has no idea that her life will not turn out like she planned. I was swept away into a wonderful story, pleasantly transported into a story old in time, but so fresh and new.
